Who is providing KIPP Columbus bussing?

KIPP Columbus partners with two private transportation companies to provide bus services to our students: VAT, Inc. (VAT) and Universal Transportation Systems (UTS). Your child’s bus route assignment will indicate which company is driving this route. We closely collaborate with VAT and UTS to ensure reliable and safe transportation to and from school every day!

Who is eligible to receive a bus route?

Students that were previously eligible to receive a bus route through Columbus City Schools (barring address changes), will continue to be eligible. We will explore the potential for bussing students that were deemed by CCS as ineligible due to being within walking distance (within 2 miles from campus) on a case-by-case basis. Students that live outside of the CCS district can request a bus route, and will be assigned to the closest available stop that is located within the CCS district, even if it more than two miles away from the student’s residential address.

Who do I reach out to with questions or concerns about my child’s bus?

To inquire about the current status of your child’s bus, please reach out directly to the dispatch center for that bus company that is running that route as indicated on the original bus route assignment. VAT Dispatch: 614-252- 5060; UTS Dispatch: 614-324-7710

To request an updated bus route due to an address change, file a complaint about an incident that occurred on your child’s bus, or general inquiries please fill out the form located HERE to submit the request to our Operations Team. Updated bus route assignments due to address change take 5-10 business days.
