At KIPP Columbus Primary, our goal is to nurture the whole child, not just his or her academic goals. We focus on character, academic & social-emotional learning so our students can progress throughout their schooling as well-rounded, unique individuals. ACADEMICS

In the 2020-21 school year, KIPP Columbus began the process to revamp its curriculum and assessment tools to ensure strong alignment with the Science of Reading. A partial implementation occurred in the ‘20-21 school year and a full implementation of the adjusted approach began in the ‘21-22 and continued into the‘22-23 school year resulting in ~30% increase in reading literary results in less than 3 years

Early Literacy Results – 2022-2023 School Year:

84% of kindergarten and 82% of first grade students are ending the year on grade level (DIBELS data). – 89% of Kindergarten students are at or above grade-level proficiency in literacy (STAR Assessment) – 100% of reading teachers trained in the science of reading
80% of students earned an 80% or higher on ALL subjects in grades K-1
